Chihuly at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Since last fall, I've been seeing posts on Instagram and Facebook of an art exhibit featuring spectacular blown glass at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. That was basically all I knew about it, other than the fact that it looked amazing...so one afternoon Brian, my mom, and sisters headed down to the VMFA to check it out.

What, or rather, who, is ChihulyFrom the VMFA site: "Chihuly at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, a major exhibition of work by internationally renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly, opening October 20, 2012. Chihuly’s art remains at the cutting edge of the technical and virtuoso possibilities of glass as a medium, and this exhibition will include many iconic works for which Chihuly is known — Ikebana, Mille Fiori, Chandeliers, Tabac Baskets, Venetians, Boats, Persian Ceiling — as well as site-specific installations, taking advantage of our soaring Atrium and reflecting pools. "

Here are some photos taken on my iPhone of the exhibit. It was mind blowing (pun intended). If you haven't been, check it out before the exhibit ends Sunday, February 10!
